The Spider Plant (Chlorophytum Comosum) is a popular, low-maintenance houseplant known for its attractive green and white striped leaves and its ability to produce small, white flowers and “pups” (baby plants). It’s an excellent air purifier and adds a touch of greenery to any space.
Watering: Spider plants prefer to be kept evenly moist but not waterlogged. Water the plant when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Be sure to allow any excess water to drain away, as sitting in water can lead to root rot. During the growing season (spring and summer), water more frequently, but reduce watering in fall and winter when the plant’s growth slows.
Sunlight: Spider plants thrive in bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower light conditions. However, too little light may cause the variegation to fade, and the plant may become leggy. Ideally, they should receive 4-6 hours of indirect light per day.
The variegated spider plant is a beautiful and easy-to-care-for addition to both beginner and seasoned plant enthusiasts’ collections.
